Clean Water for the people of Maissade, Haiti
Description
We all have the opportunity to provide safe, clean drinking water to the people of Maissade, Haiti. The total cost of the system is $5000 and can provide water for up to 5000 people! In other villages where this system is installed, Cholera and other water borne diseases have been effectively erased!
I don't believe in coincidences. Just a day after finding out about this, I find out the founder of Fountains of Hope International will be in Haiti at the same time as our group from Converge. After talking to the project leader, he told me that a water purification system is tops on the pastor in the village's list a few weeks ago when they visited. And a day ofter that, the first check was promised by someone I've never met before!
Also, I just found out that there is a more affordable system that may work that we could purchase from Sawyer. We are looking into this option as well. More clean water for more people? We'll keep you updated!
The blessings of God keep coming in! A church in Minnesota has had it on their heart to raise funds for a clean water program to raise money for and invest in. When they heard about our efforts, their pastor, Jeff Glaus, told me he found it in this effort.
New Covenant in Fresno has a group that is putting money together to get clean water to Maissade. It is obvious that God is moving!
So I am just giving you the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of real people. I know there's a lot of needs out there right now. I just am so passionate about this because this is the village that our adopted son's family lives. The cholera epidemic has hit this village hard. It broke my heart to watch people walk down to the river every day to bring water back to their homes. The same river where they wash their clothes and motorcycles.
There are wells around the town and even for some of the remote villages, but many are contaminated.
Thanks for considering giving from your heart!
